After launching the all-new interface in conjunction with the anniversary of Facebook to six, now we got rumors that Facebook will launch a web-based email services to their customers soon.
It is said which, the project known as Project Titan employees by Facebook, which passes through them, they want to introduce web-based email, chat and also functions as enhanced chat functionality on the existing site Facebook will not attract consumers.
It also said, which Facebook will introduce one function POP3 and IMAP, allows Facebook users to access their emails directly through your desktop. Interestingly, e-mail address is later said to be using the URL of your choice, for example, if the URL of your choice is Facebook.com/ohmobiles, then your email address will soon be ohmobiles@facebook.com.
Prior to this, MySpace has introduced e-mail function on their site, which uses address@myspace.com. Perhaps with the introduction of email Facebook, it will become the largest email providers, as many as 400 million are now using Facebook.
Bono, U2 is inviting controversy by speaking against file sharing.
Ever since Paul McGuinness, manager of rock band U2, lashing out at Internet providers for allegedly exploiting and promoting illegal file sharing began, U2 fans doubt whether McGuinness spoke for the band.
Bono, lead singer of rock band U2 (seen here last month at launch party Vevo) is inviting controversy by speaking against file sharing. Bono, U2’s outspoken frontman, who cleared up this weekend. As part of an op-ed piece in The New York Times, argued the singer that online file sharing is hurting the music and film-makers and placed much of the blame on bandwidth providers.
“A decade’s worth of music file-sharing and swiping has made clear that the people it hurts are the creators,” Bono wrote, “in this case, the young, fledgling songwriters who can’t live off ticket and T-shirt sales like the least sympathetic among us.”
Bono’s comments are surprising. Most artists come close to publicly criticize file sharing for fear it might alienate fans in the same way as Metallica, when the group brought an action against Napster copyright almost ten years ago. Lars Ulrich, Metallica’s drummer, was vocal in his dislike for those who shared Metallica’s music without paying for it, and the band was widely criticized for its antipiracy position. Toshiba and Gateway are most early participants in Netbook makers to stretch across the exhibition floor at Consumer Electronics Show. The one that caught our eyes are the Toshiba and Gateway listings at Canadian reseller following Hewlett-Packard’s iMini 210 Netbook specification leaked. All the three models from HP, Toshiba and Gateway are Intel N450 silicon based, or known as “Pine Trail”.
Both Toshiba and Gateway models appeared on the Canadian reseller web site Future Shop and having similar configurations, which are 1.66Ghz Intel Atom powered processor, 160GB of hardisk for Gateway netbook, while 250GB for Toshiba, a 10.1 inch screen, 1Gb of memory, and Intel Graphic Media Accelerator 3150 Express graphic chip. Both come with Windows 7 Starter Edition operating system.
The Gateway Netbook is listed at $285 USD while Toshiba’s Netbook at $438 USD at the Canadian reseller site. New Netbooks are not only expected to splash at CES, but the full fledged laptops are also leaked from HP, Toshiba, Gateway which powered by Intel new Core i3 mobile processor.
Thousands of people arrested in a web pornography crackdown by China and this will be push continuously in new year, according to report. The Chinese government announced the sweeping effort resulting in 5,394 arrests and 4,186 in criminal investigations, a fourfold increase over prior year. Based on Reuters reports, China’s Ministry of Public Security warned that in 2010 it will intensify punishments for illegal Internet operations, increase up monitoring, and press internet service providers to use preventive technology.
The China’s efforts are controversial to eradicate porn and other frowned upon content site, but they are not new. The country has blocked user generated content sites such Facebook, Twitter, Youtube. Google is said to acknowledged Chinese government to disable search feature with the goal to censoring pornography. It was also rumored that Google would not confirm that the Chinese government asked the search company to cencor related searches to Tiananmen Square around 20th anniversary of violent end to student protests there. A plan to require desktop monitoring software called Green Dam Youth Escort on all new PCs also be part of problem and backfired in summer 2009.
