CES: Intel Atom chip featured on Toshiba, Gateway Netbooks

toshiba-n450-netbook-small_270x234Toshiba and Gateway are most early participants in Netbook makers to stretch across the exhibition floor at Consumer Electronics Show. The one that caught our eyes are the Toshiba and Gateway listings at Canadian reseller following Hewlett-Packard’s iMini 210 Netbook specification leaked. All the three models from HP, Toshiba and Gateway are Intel N450 silicon based, or known as “Pine Trail”.

Both Toshiba and Gateway models appeared on the Canadian reseller web site Future Shop and having similar configurations, which are 1.66Ghz Intel Atom powered processor, 160GB of hardisk for Gateway netbook, while 250GB for Toshiba, a 10.1 inch screen, 1Gb of memory, and Intel Graphic Media Accelerator 3150 Express graphic chip. Both come with Windows 7 Starter Edition operating system.

The Gateway Netbook is listed at $285 USD while Toshiba’s Netbook at $438 USD at the Canadian reseller site. New Netbooks are not only expected to splash at CES, but the full fledged laptops are also leaked from HP, Toshiba, Gateway which powered by Intel new Core i3 mobile processor.
